On June 2, 1942 she married J. Marion Rioth they shared nearly sixty-four years of marriage.
During her school years in Wilsey, Vera sang in quartets and ensembles and was awarded a medal in state music conpetition. She was a 4-H member and later a club leader. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of Ottawa Quilters Guild. she also carried books-on-wheels as a member of Friends of the Ottawa Library. Vera was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution General Edward Hand Chapter, Franklin County Genealogy Society, Ottawa University Women and the Whatever Club EHU
In 1935 Mrs Rioth became a member of the Wilsey Christian Church and she continued church activities throughout her life. She was a devout Bible reader, a participant in many church activities including choir, teaching, Missionary groups, and serving as a clerk, financial secretary and treasurer. Her active church membership followed the changes in family residency including American Baptist Church in Council Grove, Pratt, Derby and Ottawa.
She is survived by her husband Marion of the home, a daughter Malonne (Dale) Davies of Reading KS a sister Marie Garner and brothers Marion A and Russell Shubert of Council Grove, Granddaughters Dawn (Bruce) Schoepflin, Dorene Davies and four great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a sister Rena (Gilbert) Koepsel and an infant son.
Vera exemplified a Christian wife and mother in her support and participation in the endeavors of her family. Her caring extended far beyond her immediate family. She will be deeply missed and remain in the hearts and thoughts of her family and many friends forever...
