Martha Lorene Burns, age 92 of Palm Coast, formerly of Daytona Beach, went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Lorene was born in Franklin Co. Alabama to James and Kattie Tubbs, she dedicated her life to taking care of others. She was a proper, statues, classy beauty that never shared a cross word with anyone, her endless joy and "Southern Bell" personality shown though to everyone around her. She was a proud member of the Church of Christ Beville Road who loved music, gardening, dancing and French fries. Her 7 sibling and her first husband preceded her in death. Interment will be in Daytona Memorial Park.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 22 years, William "Billy" Burns; a brother, James (Cassandra) Tubbs; two sisters, Margie Martin and Laverne (Thomas) Allen; a sister-in-law, Ilene Tubbs; seven stepsons; a stepdaughter; 16 step grandchildren; eight great- grandchildren, and her dear friend and caregiver. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler. Arrangements are under the careful direction of Lohman Funeral Home, Daytona.
