Mrs. Margaret Alice Wright
Mrs. Margaret Alice Wright was born March 24, 1859, at Greenville, Ill., and passed away at the hospital in Beatrice, May 14, 1949, at the age of 90 years, one month and 21 days.
On Sept. 9, 1877, she was united in marriage to Eli M. Wright in Illinois. To this union ten children were born, five of whom survive her.
Oct. 16, 1886 she and her family moved to Nebraska and settled on a farm near Ruskin where they made their home until 1917 at which time they moved to Beatrice.
Many years ago she accepter Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour and identified her life with the First Christian church (sic) of this city. She has remained faithful to the church throughout the years.
She had been a member of the Vesper Chapter No. 9, O.E.S. for more than 21 years.
Her husband preceded her in death 25 years ago last January. Three daughters and two sons have also preceded her in death.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Hattie Sykes, Ruskin; Mrs. Georgia Jasperson, Mrs. Blanche Cambridge, both of Beatrice; two sons, Leslie, North Platte, Ira, Beatrice; one sister, Mrs. Hattie Hunter, San Diego, Calif.; one brother, Orson Goodson, Greenville, Ill.; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Christian church (sic), Beatrice, by Rev. Wayne Greene, on Tuesday afternoon, May 17, 1949. Interment was made in the Spring Creek cemetery (sic) at Ruskin, Nebr., under direction of Harman Mortuary.
Pall bearers at Beatrice were Charles Carpenter, E. J. Gouker, Dr. Herbert Jackson, L. R. Olson, F. H. Graf and Claude Carpenter. The pall bearers at Ruskin were members of the family — L. J. Wright, Carl Jasperson, Eli Skinner, Alva Sykes, Madison Randall and Dean Wright.
