HEFLIN - James Robert Thomas, 87, of Edwardsville, died Saturday at Cleburne Hospital, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held today at Edwardsville Church of God the Rev. Harold Jennings officiated. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery in Calhoun County.Dryden Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Dessie Thomas of Edwardsville; two daughters, Mr. James Harlle of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Russell Brooks of East Point, Ga.; three sons, Melvin of Douglasville, Ga., Ray of Phoenix City and James of Blue Mountain; 22 grandchildren and several great- grandchildren.
Mr. Thomas was a lifelong resident of Cleburne County.
