Survivors include her husband, Ron Stoops; a son, Randy Harmon; four daughters, Danita Roche, Marla Missing, Melisse Smith, and Niki Taylor; four stepchildren, Ronnie Stoops, Shirley Stine, Cathy Smith, and Rick Stoops; 11 grandchildren and 14 stepgrandchildren, two brothers, Jon David Bower, and James Stephen Bower; and a sister Janice Henderson; numerous nieces and nephews including Laura Whittley, and Tammy Thornton, of Thayer, Kan., and Jon D. Bower II, of Chanute, Kan. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dan and Helen Bower, by her brother Norman DeVere Martin, and her sister, Mary Novak. The celebration of her life is to be held at the First Baptist Church of Chanute at 1 pm on Saturday, September 24. A reception will follow the service.
