Mrs. Martha Louisa McChristian, age 63, died at her home near Japton on Monday, December 24. She had not been seriously ill and her death was unexpected.

She was born February 9, 1888 in Madison County. Her parents were Marion D. Eubanks and Esther Johnson Eubanks. She had been a member of the Church of Christ for fifty years.

Survivors include three sons, Francis Berry McChristian of Fayetteville, Lester McChristian of Wesley, Calvin McChristian of Japton; two daughters, Zola Rogers and Ica McConnell of Japton; two brothers, W. M. Eubanks of Japton, and J. A. Eubanks of Fayetteville; five sisters, Mandy McChristian, Maggie Mathis, Lily Simpson, Etta Miller, and Pearl McChristian, all of Japton, 21 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Japton December 27 at 2 o'clock conducted by Clarence Haskins, Church of Christ minister. Burial was in the Gross Cemetery with arrangements by the Brashears Funeral Home.
