Mrs. Knicely was born Nov. 12, 1922, in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late Ward E. and Mary Amelia Showalter Beery.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church.
On Feb. 6, 1947, she married David Franklin Knicely, who preceded her in death on May 2, 2009.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth Knicely and wife, Dorothy, and Lee Knicely and wife, Brenda, all of Dayton; six daughters, Alice Knicely at home, Ida Wenger and husband, Ray, of Dayton, Rebecca Rohrer and husband, Byard, of Harrisonburg, Ferne Wenger and husband, Henry Jr., Anna Horst and husband, Adin, and Doris Horst and husband, Ervin, all of Dayton; three brothers, Joseph Beery and Emory Beery, both of Dayton, and Ward Beery of Harrisonburg; four sisters, Wilda Beery and Mary Beery, both of Harrisonburg, Ada Rodes of Port Republic and Anna Rohrer of Dayton; 30 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.
The ministers of the church will conduct a funeral service Friday, Aug. 27, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Pleasant View Old Order Mennonite Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
The body will be taken to the home, where friends may call until 7:30 on Wednesday and Thursday evenings.
