Billy Newton, age 63, of Edmond, Ok., was born Feb. 2, 1933 in Okla. City to Jesse Newton and Mary Alice Cooley. Billy grew up in the Blanchard and Lexington area. He was a truck driver by profession for the last 40 years and received numerous recogniton's for his work. Bill worked for two companies at one time, B.F. Walker and Turner Brothers, and his recent employer was Arrow Truck Lines where he had worked for 19 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Bill passed away Jan. 13, 1997 in Kansas City, Mo. His survivors include wife, Dolores, of the home; stepson and daughter-in-law, Tim and Clistie Wishon of Edmond; daughters and son-in-law, Shirley Jean and Donnie Diggs of Ft. Worth, Tx. and Deborah Pharoah; stepdaughter and son-in-la w, Terry and Bill Smalling of California; sisters, Elsie Hays of Roswell, N.M., Dovie Cheatwood of Maud, Ok., Josephine Jones of Seminole, Ok., Valeria Ivie of Arlington, Tx; mother, Mary Alice Cooley of Seminole, Ok; 7 grandchildren.
