Matthew Alexander Carson, 17, went home to Jesus August 5, 2010. He was born Feb. 25, 1993 in OKC to Charles and Helene (Thorp) Carson. Matt attended Bethany High School where he was a member of the National Honor Society. He loved music, from playing the piano to being a member of the band. He served 2 years as a Junior Goodwill Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. He was an avid sports fan who loved The Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and ESPN. He cherished his times with his buddies, playing video games, watching movies and browsing the web. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Melvin Thorp, great-grandparents, and Uncle Trey. Matt is survived by his parents, Chuck and Helene; brothers Josh and his wife Lindsay, McKinney, TX and Nick, Yukon, OK; grandparents Myrna Thorp, Terry Carson and wife Jean, Carobelle Carson; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. Viewing will be Saturday and Sunday, noon to 9pm with the family greeting visitors on Sunday from 6-8pm at Mercer-Adams. Funeral services will be Monday, August 9, 3:00pm at Bethany First Church of the Nazarene with interment in Yukon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association
