Carvln Andrew Ates, 60, of Rt. 1, Magee, died May 3 at Magee General Hospital following a brief Illness. He was a lifelong resident of Simpson County and a member of Congregational Methodist Church of Magee.
Funeral services were conducted from the Mlms Mitchell Chapel at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon with Rev. Austin Watson officiating, assisted by Rev. Kenneth Verner. Burial followed in Sharon cemetery with Mlms Mitchell Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elsie Stubbs Ates, Magee; 1 son, Thurman Ates, Magee; 1 . step daughter, Mrs. Lavon Dollar, Magee; 1 brother, Elmer Ates, Magee; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lennis Mangum, Magee, Mrs. Eula White, Raymond; Mrs. Myrtle Dollar, Magee.
