Elmer J. Ates, 91, a retired trucker and farmer, of Magee died December 3, 2001, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. He attended Rocky Hill Baptist Church.
Services are scheduled for Wednesday December 5, at 11.a.m. at Mims Mitchell Funeral Chapel in Magee with burial following in Sharon Presbyterian Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Hattie S. Ates; a son, Joe Ates of Florence; daughter, Doris Jones of Meridian; two sisters, Myrtle Dollar and Zora Ates, both of Magee; six grandchildren and 1 1 greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Monte Jones.
