John Boon at 20, came to America and located in Beaver County where he married Jane Hunt, the daughter of George Hunt. Jane Hunt Boon died Dec. 9, 1824 in Beaver County leaving four children: Mary Jane, George, Eliza, and Thomas.
John Boon remarried. After the death of his first wife, he made Berks County, PA his home for six years. From there he came to Trumbull County in 1828, where he settled in Johnston. He died in Mecca, May 4, 1859.
George Boon was eight years old when his father settled in Johnston. He grew up on his father's farm, attending the district school and also the school at Farmington one term.
After his marriage, he settled in Mecca. In 1879, he located on the farm along Mosquito Creek. He owned 279 acres. His two-story residence with its bay windows and veranda was one of the most delightful rural homes in the vicinity.
On Nov. 6, 1947, George married at Williamsfield to Miss Martha Clark, born and reared in that county (Ashtabula), the daughter of John Clark, one of the pioneers of eastern Ohio. Her mother's maiden name was Sarah Foster. Both parents were natives of Pennsylvania.
Mr. and Mrs. George Boone had the following children: John L., of Minneapolis, Kansas; Samuel, died at 16 months; Jennie (Mrs. L.S. Palmer) of Mecca; and J. Charles of Ada, Ohio."
