Rolland Bradford (Sonny) Lowe, 84, of Shelton, Washington, died June 2, 2010. Services were held June 12th at the United Methodist Church there.

Mr. Lowe was born June 28 1925 in Armel, Colorado, the son of Oscar and Hester (Piper) Lowe. He grew up in Wolbach, graduated from Wolbach High School. He was salutatorian of the Class of 1943.

He received his BA degree in education from the University of Nebraska in 1948 where he lettered in both baseball and football.

After graduation he moved to Shelton, Washington where he married Vera Rowe at the First Methodist Church.

He worked for the Kitsap-Mason Dairy in Shelton until it closed in 1971. He then worked for Simpson in accounting until retiring in 1985.

Mr. Lowe was a star athlete and enjoyed all sports. He is a member of the Shelton-Mason County sports Hall of Fame. He was nearly unhitable as he threw the first windmill delivery seen in Mason County in the 1950's. 16-time Bayshore Golf Club Champion and held a high average in bowling.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Shelton's "Active Club" as well as the Bayshore Golf club. He was on the board of directors of the Simpson Credit Union.

Survivors include his wife, Vera; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas R. and Cindy Lowe and Bradford Roy Lowe, both of Shelton, Washington; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Watson of Nacogdoches, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter-in-law, Pam Lowe.
