Geo. W. Bond, one of the oldest and most respected citizens of this community, is dead. He died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. M. Conger, and was buried at East Grove cemetery, on Holmes Creek, Sunday.
He was a brave Confederate soldier as his few remaining comrades here will attest. After peace came into the land he was one of those to leave a reeking prison to help build up the land he loved so well, and the sweet peace of one who has discharged his duty nobly sat upon his brow at all times and he will be remembered by both the young and the old of this community as one of its most lovable characters.
