David was born July 2, 1731, the son of John Jenkins, and grandson of David Jenkins who emigrated from Wales to Philadelphia in 1710. David was Col of the 10th Batt., Lancaster County Militia 1777. (PA Arch. s 5, v 7, 974-975-991; PA Arch. s 6, v 11, p 218). He was an original Trustee of old Pequea presbyterian Church. He served as Justice of the Peace for 7 years, and presided with 4 other men over the Court of Quarter Sessions at Lancaster. He died at the age of 66 years.
