Mrs. Daffron, who had been ill for five weeks, died late Tuesday night at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rolla Fisher, in Wellington.
Pallbearers for the funeral services were Marvin Somerville, Pink Sullivan, Ellis Nunnelley, H.A. Wynn, Charles E. May and P.E. Starr. Honorary pallbearers were D.D. McDowell, J.M. Homer, R.H. Royal, Ed Clement, Pat Dickey and W.I. Jackson. Flower bearers were Mrs. Marvin Somerville, Mrs. H.W. Wynn, Mrs. Ernest Elliott, Mrs. Alvin Winters, Mrs. Elbert Sheppard, and Mrs. John Bevers.
Interment was in the Plymouth Cemetery with the Ellis Funeral Home in charge.,
One of the highly respected women of the Samnorwood area, Mrs. Daffron had lived in that section for thirty two years. During that time she had gained the love of her neighbors, who know her for her kindness and high ideals. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mrs. Daffron, nee Ellen Jane Kennedy, was born in Cleburne County, Alabama, on June 1, 1862, and at the time of her death was seventy-six years, and five months of age. She was the daughter of Jerry and Eliza Stewart Kennedy. On February 4, 1880, she was married to Mr. Daffron, and had she lived but three months longer, the could would have celebrated their fifty-ninth anniversary.
Mrs. Daffron is survived by her husband and these children, Mrs. R.S. Fisher of Wellington, S.H. Daffron of Samnorwood, Mrs. L.T. Asher of Seagraves, J.E. Daffron of Dallas, J.T. Daffron of Samnorwood, Mrs. W.H. Castleberry of Meadow, Mrs. A.E. Watson of Wellington. A sister, Mrs. W.T. Morris lives at Beaumont and N.C. Tennison, Commissioner of Precinct One of this county, is a nephew. Twelve grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
