Z. H. Daffron, 84, a resident of this county for 40 years died on Wednesday afternoon February 13th at 2 pm, after a 6 day illness. He was at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Rolly Fisher, with whom he had lived for the last 6 years. Mr. Daffron came to the county in 1906 and settled near what is now Samnorwood. That farm continued to be his home until after the death of Mrs. Daffron, when he moved to Wellington. He was a worker in community affairs, particularly during his earlier years here, and contributed much toward the development of schools and the community in general. Mr Daffron was usually active and alert around, and in sprite of his years he maintained a keen interest in affairs around him. He continued to drive his car until he became ill. Just preceded his death, a native of Alabama, Zimaria Henderson Daffron was born February 25, 1861, and at the time of his death he was 84 years, 11 months and 13 days of age. He grew up in St. Clair County , Alabama and was married to Miss Ellen Jane Kennedy in 1880. They continued living there for 5 years, then came to Grayton, Texas where they lived for next 9 years. They then moved to the Indian Territory, settled near what is now Madill, Oklahoma, where they lived until they came to this city. Mr. Daffron was for many years a member of the I.O.O.F. when the lodge was active at Aberdeen. Mrs. Daffron preceded in death in 1938.

Mr. Daffron , is survived by 7 children, S.H. Daffron of Samnorwood, Mrs. R. S. Fisher and Mrs. A. L. Watson of Wellington, J. E. Daffron of Dallas, Mrs. W. H. Castleberry and Mrs. L. T. Asher of Seagraves and J. T. Daffron of Ft. Worth; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren also survived.
