Bonnie Phelps Martin, 69, of Boone, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at Israel Family Hospice House in Ames...A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Ames. Burial will follow in Ames Municipal Cemetery.
Bonnie Martin was born Oct. 23, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, to Jerry and Laura (Brecht) Stufflebeam. She married Thomas Phelps in June 1960 and they moved to Ames in 1965. She later married Bill Martin in October 1981, and they moved to Boone in 1982.
She is survived by her children, Sheila (Allan) Tye, of Nevada, Sheryl (Steve) Kamm, of Gilbert, David (Stacy) Phelps, of Papillion, Neb., and Brian (Tammy) Phelps, of Roland; seven grandchildren; two granddogs; five grandcats; one brother, Herb (Julie) Stufflebeam, of Cedar Rapids; and two sisters, Rosemary (Ray) Cimijotti, of Chatfield, Minn., and Karen (Bob) Persons, of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her husbands and her parents.
