Helen grew up on the "Home Farm" in Mountaindale where her father and mother had made their home after moving from other smaller farms in Frederick County.
Helen was a member of the Mountaindale Union Chapel, Bethel Lutheran Church and Bethel Busy Bees and enjoyed traveling and being with her family.
She is survived by three children, two daughters, Helen Lee Shankle and husband Jack, Frederick; Thais L. Kemp and Ray Reed, Frederick and one son, Larry D. Myers and wife Shirley, Middletown, six grandchildren, Gene V. Horner Jr. and wife Melanie; David D. Myers; Jeffrey S. Shankle; Kelli Shankle-Biedrzycki; Darren M. Myers and Stacie R. Bloom and husband Kevin, ten greatgrandchildren, Brandon Myers; Amber Myers; Lindsey Horner; Brent Horner; Kyle Horner; Clayton Myers; Colby Myers; Nicholas Bloom; Daniel Bloom and Conner Biedrzycki and one great-great-grandson, Jacob Beachley and a number of nieces and nephews and predeceased by one son-in-law, Milton E. "Jimmy" Kemp III.
Helen is also survived by two sisters, Iren K. Palmer and Mary Catherine Burns, both of Frederick and predeceased by one sister, Grace Eckel and four brothers, Albert; Austin, Roger and Russell Klipp.
Funeral held at the Robert E. Daily and Son Funeral Home, Frederick, with the Rev. Robert Lehman and Rev. L. Samuel Martz officiating and casket bearers, Gene Horner Jr., Jeffrey S. Shankle, David D. Myers, Darren M. Myers, Kevin L. Bloom and Nicholas L. Bloom and honorary pallbearers, Gordon Palmer Jr. and Robert Burns with internment being made in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick by Daily funeral directors.
