LITTLE FALLS -- Catherine E. (Kalis) Czech, 92, Little Falls, formerly of Bowlus, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at Lutheran Care Center in Little Falls.
She was born April 28, 1909, in Royalton to Paul and Katharine (Schlichting) Kalis. She married John C. Czech on Oct. 22, 1928, in Royalton. She and her husband lived in Toledo, Ohio. They returned to Bowlus. She worked with her husband in their business, the Cities Service Gas Station and Bulk Station, until their retirement in 1966.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church and a choir member for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society, Senior Citizen Community, a promoter of the Central Association of the Miraculous Medal and a member of the prayer line.
Survivors include two sons, Donald Czech, Minneapolis, and Dennis Czech, Elk Grove Village, Ill.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Loretta Zeck.
Her husband; a son, Gerald Czech; a grandson; three brothers, Isidore, Leo and Joseph Kalis; and two sisters, Mathilda McEwen and Lucy Schelonka, died earlier.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bowlus with the Rev. Gregory Mastey officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
