Climax, Minn.—Helmer Bangen, 81, rural Climax resident, died Friday at the Crookston, Minn., hospital after a long illness.

Mr. Bangen was born July 1, 1890, near Climax and was a life-long resident of the area. He married Hannah Berg Oct. 10, 1926 in Crookston and the couple farmed near Climax.
He was a member of the Sand Hill Lutheran Church near Climax and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge at Crookston.

He is survived by his wife, four sons, Orlean, Climax, Rodger, Eau Claire, Wis., Harold and Ervin, both of Great Falls, Mont.; four daughters, Mrs. Harold (Arlone) Wokasch, Lakewood, Calif., Mrs. William (Mildred) Gilstad, Mrs. Grant (Ruby) Broden and Mrs. Arnold (Fylies) Jevning, all of Great Falls, Mont.; one sister, Mrs. Olaf (Laura) Stromsmoe, Etzikom, Alberta, Canada; 25 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Sand Hill Lutheran Church near Climax at 2 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Ralph Okland officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Stenshoel Funeral Home, Crookston, is in charge of arrangements.
