Dorothy Marie Rouse, 85, of Charleston went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Arbors at Gallipolis, Ohio.
She was born in Lincoln County on July 24, 1923, to the late Oather Scott and Hannah Jane Pack Sergent. She was a loving mother and homemaker and a member of the Trace Fork Missionary Baptist Church.

Her husband, Webster Rouse, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her daughter, Reba Rouse Jones of Nitro; sons, Gary Rouse of Rand and Webster Rouse of Charleston; brother, Clate Sergent of Culloden; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Dale Wolfingbarger officiating. Burial will follow at the Trace Fork Cemetery, Culloden.

Family and Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, at the funeral home.
