Mrs. Emily Jones, 84, Loogootee, IN, died suddenly at Jasper Memorial Hospital at 10 am Thursday, November 9 1967. She had been ill for several months.

Born October 13, 1883 in Martin County, IN, she was the fifth child of Charles and Martha (Lents) Strange. On October 14, 1902, she married Richard W. Jones, who preceded her in death in 1954.

Mrs Jones was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Loogootee, IN.

Emma and Richard Jones were the parents of nime children: William Amos, Ernest, Rose (Jones) Flynn, Charles, Lawrence, Lillian (Jones) Meister, Pershing, Elizabeth (Jones) Ellett, and Mary Ruth Jones.

Before Richard married Emma Strange he had become the father of a son, Otis, with his first wife, Ella Greenwell. Ella died soon after his birth. Emma loved and raised Otis as her own son.

Funeral services were conducted at Joseph Catholic Church in Bramble, IN at 10 am Monday with interment at St Joseph Cemetery.
