Martha was the daughter of John Jacob Lents & Christina Spalding. She married Charles Strange on 19 November 1872 & they had 11 children.∼Martha Lents was born Sept. 17, 1855 to John Jacob Lents (1809-1886) and Christina Spalding (1815-1886) in Martin County, IN.

On April 15, 1872 she married Charles Strange and they were parents to 11 children. Charles and Martha lived in the home place of his parents, William Ambrose and Mary (Miles) Strange. They were members of the St Joseph Catholic Church and both are buried in the St Joseph Cemetery in Bramble, IN.
