"Flash flooding is believed to have been a factor in a fatal wreck that killed a South Carolina woman on I-20 and forced authorities to rescue at least 18 residents from their homes in Morton....The lone person killed was Becky Morgan, 58, of Goose Creek, S.C., Scott County Deputy Coroner Phyllis Irby said. Morgan was traveling east on I-20 at 9:30 a.m. when her vehicle hydroplaned and hit a tree. She was wearing a seat belt and died on the scene, Irby said. "An eyewitness said it was raining pretty hard when she drove over a puddle and lost control," Irby said.
Jay Jarosz of Morton described the rain as intense."
