Virginia "Jennie" Fry was the daughter of Hannah Catherine Hake and John Lewis Fry. Virginia's maternal grandparents were Elias Hake and Nancy Ann Coburn.

Virginia married Charles Riley Graney on 15 January 1890 in Ellenboro. Charles was born on 3 July 1863 and died on 16 August 1935 in Lancaster, Grant County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Christopher Groene who was born in 1832 and died in 1916 and Elizabeth Holenberger who died in 1871.
