BECHTOLD, AUGUST
August Bechtold, 2227 Yosemite Drive, died early Wednesday morning in a local hospital after a long illness. He was 62.
Bechtold was born and reared in Pollock, S.D. and married in Herreid, S. D. in 1936. He came to Lodi in 1945.
He worked for Claude C. Woods for 28 years and retired in April 1975. He was a member of the Temple Baptist Church and the Operating Engineers Local 3 of Stockton.
He is survived by his wife, Maggie; a son, Norman Bechtold of Lodi; two sisters, Mrs. Emily York of Lodi and Mrs. Martha Spkzynski of Minneapolis, Minn.; two brothers, Fred Bechtold of Clovis, N. M. and John Bechtold of Herreid; his stepmother, Mrs. Magdalina Bechtold of Herreid; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Fischer officiating. Burial will be in Cherokee Memorial Park under the direction of the Lodi Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home until noon Friday.
