Our loving father, Paul Ericksen, 79, returned to our Heavenly Father on Monday, Aug, 16, 2010.

He was born Jan. 30, 1931 in Fountain Green, Utah to Grant A. Ericksen and Edith Mary Madsen Ericksen. Paul married the love of his life, Beth Talbot, on Aug. 26, 1949.

Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 19, 1953. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of the church and held many callings including ward clerk and executive secretary; he served as stake missionaries with his wife.

Paul worked most of his life at Hill Air Force Base and retired there in 1987. Paul enjoyed camping and fishing. He and Beth loved RV traveling and spent several winters in Arizona. He loved spending time with friends and family.

Paul is survived by four daughters: Peggy Jensen (Jim) of St. George, Gloria Ericksen of Las Vegas, Melanie Thompson (Dave) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Elena LeGrande (Dave) of Herriman; two sons, Dennis (Melissa) and Tim (Marti), both of Vernal; 36 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold Ericksen (Myrna); two sisters, Louise Westergard (Wilford) and Kay Hawkins (Kenneth); and many dear friends and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Beth; daughter-in-law Gail Ericksen and grandson Joshua Ericksen; mother and father Grant and Edith Ericksen; and two brothers, David and Edward Ericksen.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Uintah Stake Center, 4080 South 2500 East. Friends and family may call Friday, Aug. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Blackburn Mortuary and one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will take place at the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of the Blackburn Mortuary.
