Martha Worth was the widow of Moses Gove when she became the second wife of Dr. Benjamin Taber.

She may have been named Patty when a young girl. I have found birth records for Martha and Patty on the same day, but never both in same source, indicating just one girl, not twin girls. Patty was a common nickname for Martha.

She is the sister of Meribah Worth, who is buried next to her.

Her parents were William Worth and Betsey Tibbetts. William was born on Nantucket to Lionel Worth and Martha Mitchell. Lionel (# 18142318) and Martha (# 18142352) were buried in Starksboro Green Mount Cemetery, as listed in a 1919 survey, but the stones do not survive. It is possible that the partial headstone of a William (Wm. Worth # 96437250) is that of her father, but cannot be proven. Betsey's parents I don't know, perhaps Nathaniel Tibbetts and Meribah Hutchins, but that is a guess.

My great grandmother Caroline Worth Miles, left a family record in which she recorded the names of William and Betty's 12 children:

Martha b. 1789 (this memorial)
Sally b. 1792
Betsey b. 1794
Samuel b. 1795
Joseph b. 1797 (father of my great grandmother)
Mariam b. 1799 (twin)
Meribah b. 1799 (twin) (also buried here)
Gulielma b. 1801
Henry T. b. 1803
Joanna b. 1805
Elna b. 1807
Phebe b. 1809
