He married Mary Jane Snyder and fathered Jeremiah Franklin (b. 07/17/68), Sarah Lillian (b. 02/28/70), James Murray (b. 07/30/72), and Florence Virginia (b. 03/17/75). In 1890, he lived in Hopewell Township, York County, but died in Loganville from a "fracture of hip caused by a fall" leading to "dry gangrene of both feet."
