Dr. Isaiah Knott, coroner, went to Mendon Wednesday and viewed the body, but did not deem it necessary to hold an inquest. He found the left leg broken and thigh bone crushed, the right leg fractured and a number of bruises on his person.
The deceased was a member of the Methodist church and was also a Knight of Pythias. His remains were laid to rest in the Old Mendon cemetery Wednesday afternoon with Pythian honors.
A wife and four children survive him." Chariton Courier, January 22, 1909
