Dies From Gun Shot
A tragic accident that occurred Friday morning about 9:30 at the Fred Nass Home five miles north of Guide Rock, cost the life of their baby son, Walter Nass, four years of age.
Little Walter, with his six year old brother, Elmer, were playing about the home, when the latter espied a rifle behind the kitchen door, and childlike, picked it up, aimed it at the smaller boy and pulled the trigger. The shot entered the left side of the tots face, under the eye.
The Guide Rock doctor, Dr. Ambrose was called and decided upon examination that nothing could be done there, their only hope lying in reaching a Hastings hospital in time. They took him in the car, but at 11:30 when they were about half way to their destination, at a point, about three miles north of Blue Hill, the little lad passed away, the immediate cause of his death being hemorage (sic).
The funeral was held Sunday at the home and burial was made in Zion Lutheran church cemetery. He survived by his father, and mother, six brothers and two sisters.
