WALTER BROWN
Walter Brown, aged 75, of Rollestone Avenue, West Sayville, died on Saturday at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born in Paterson N.J. but had lived in West Sayville for about 70 years.
Mr. Brown was a bayman until his retirement five years ago. He was a member of the West Sayville Fire Department and of Court Bayside Foresters of America , of Sayville.
On June 24th, Mr. Brown and his wife, the former Miss Annie J. Seerveld, celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Besides his widow, Mr. Brown leaves a son, Waller F. Brown, of West Sayville, two daughters, Mrs. Charles Munkelwitz, of Sayville, and Mrs. William Newhouse, of West Sayville, as well as five grandchildren.
Fire Department services were held at Raynor's Chapel, Sayville, on Monday evening and funeral services were conducted at the chapel on Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. J. H. Joldersma, pastor of the First Reformed Church, of West Sayville. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Sayville.
