YORKTOWN - Mrs. Julia Lee Cooke, 79, a native and lifelong resident of York County, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 1994. She was a homemaker and a member of Zion Prospect Baptist Church in Tabb.
She is survived by three daughters, Lillian L. Howard and Dorothy Stokes, both of Hampton, and Julia Richmond, of Newport News; three sons, Herman R. Cooke and Herbert Cooke Jr., both of Hampton, and James A. Cooke, of Yorktown; two sisters, Edith Harrod, of Yorktown, and Sallie Baytop, of Newport News; one brother, William Dillard, of Yorktown; two half-brothers, Daniel Dillard, of New York, N.Y., and Roland Dillard, of Hampton; 35 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Zion Prospect Baptist Church, Tabb, by Rev. Walter C. Johnson. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the residence, 203 Firby Road, Tabb. Arrangements by W.J. Smith and Son Funeral Home.
