CALHOUN CITY - George J. Clements, 81, died Thursday, June 8, 2006, at his son's home in Vardaman. He was born Aug. 12, 1924, in Calhoun County. He was a retired factory employee and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having fought in Iwo Jima. He was a member of Sabougla Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, one daughter, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer H. Clements and Birtie Barnett Clements; a sister, Sarah Walls; and three brothers, Rex Clements, Lee Clements and Walter Clements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
