"Frank Lafayette Bird Sr., 81, of Austin, died Monday, June 20, 1994. He was a member of Hyde Park Baptist Church. He served as deacon for 55 years and was ordained at Ridgetop Baptist Church in 1939. He taught Sunday school for over 40 years and was a painting contractor by trade. He and Gail Martin were married by Reverend E. S. Martin at Ridgetop Baptist Church in July 1936....Mr. Bird is survived by his wife, Gail Bird; three children, Frank Bird JR.. and Richard M. Bird and daughter Frances Crooks and husband, Gerald; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends....Mr Bird was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather...."
