Virgil P. Ponder, 72, Iberia, died Friday at Charles E. Still Hospital. He was born Dec 27, 1910, at Iberia, a son of Otto and Mollie Ferguson Ponder. He was married on April 12, 1935, at Versailles, to Nellie Duncan who survives of the home. A retired farmer, he attended the Iberia Church of Christ.
Other survivors include: two brothers, Earl Ponder, Iberia, and Grant Ponder, Dixon, and a sister, Mr. Lorene Allen, Iberia.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home, Iberia, with Brother Bernie Crum officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. today.
