Earl Cannon

Earl Cannon, 64 of 717 Youngs Mill Road died this morning at West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Cannon was a retired plant engineer at the Dunson Division of West Point Pepperell. A native of Shawmut, Ala., he had lived here for the past 33 years and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Lois Swiangle Cannon; four daughters, Mrs. Carol Garrett of Phenix City, Ala., Mrs. Darlene Collins of Opelika, Ala., Mrs Pat Darden of LaGrange and Mrs. Brenda Krames of Baton Rouge, La.; two sons, Robert David Cannon of Salem, Ala., and Ronald Earl Cannon of LaGrane; two stepdaughers, Mrs. Nancy Kincaid of Orlanda, Fla., and Mrs. Lucy Siddie of Auburn, Ala.; four stepsons,Roger Pierce of Houston, Texas, Wayne Pierce of Denver, Colo., Frank Pierce of Columbia, Miss, and Paul Pierce of Charleston, S. C.; Two sisters, Mrs Louis Buter of Roanoke, Ala., and Mrs. Barbara Dillard of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, H. H. Cannon of Pittsburg, Pa., and Ocie Cannon of Cusseta, Ala.; 10 grandchildren and one grat-grandchild.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home with the Rev. Conrad DeFrieze officiating. Burial will be in Shawmut Cemetery.

Flowers will be accepted but those desiring may contribute to their favorite mission.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 p.m. Tuesday.
