Mary was my husband's Grandmother.

She was the oldest of eight children born to John M. HOPPERDIETZEL and Leila KEHL.

She was married to Raymond Arthur FLETCHER on November 16th, 1927 in Winona, MN.

Together they had five children:

Harriet Leila (1930)
John "Jack" Charles (1931)
Richard James (1932)
Rae Ellen (1939)

Obituary

Funeral services for Mary Barbara Fletcher, age 66, who passed March 30, 1972, of Stevens Point, WI, held on 4/3/1972 at Shuda Funeral Chapel. Rev. V.H. Holton of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiated. Burial in Restlawn Cemetery, Grand Rapids, Wood Co., WI.

Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the United Transportation Union, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the WWI Auxiliary. She was present secretary and past president of the United Transportation Union Auxiliary, and acting secretary of the WWI Auxiliary.

Mrs. Fletcher was born July 8, 1905 in Athens, WI, daughter of John & Leila (Kehl) Hopperdietzel. A graduate of Athens High School. She worked in Athens Post Office and also served as assistant postmaster until 1927. She was married to Raymond Arthur Fletcher on Nov. 16, 1927, in Winona, MN, they then moved to Stevens Point. They have resided at their present address since 1932.

Survivors include her husband, three daughters, Mrs. Peter (Jean) Konopacky, San Diego, CA, Mrs. Clarence J. (Harriett) Fritsch, La Crosse, WI, and Mrs. Walter W. (Rae Ellen) Lyons, Park Forest, IL; two sons, John "Jack" (Marilyn), Mr. Prospect, IL, and Richard (Gisela), Montgomery, AL; 17 grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Leila Hopperdietzel, Athens; two brothers, Henry, Athens, and Walter, Abbotsford, and three sisters, Mrs. Roy (Ellen) Schaefer, and Mrs. Marvin (Dorothy) Ewan, both of Athens, and Mrs. Irwin (Grace) Smith, Wausau.

She was preceded in death by her father, one brother and one sister.

Cause of death: Heart attack.
