Frances Sipe/Seip Will
In the name of God amen the eighth day of March 1763 I, Frances Sipe of Warwick Township in the County of Lancaster, being very sick and weak in body but of perfect senses mind and memory thanks be to God therefore calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appropriate for all men once to die to make and ordain this my last will and testament that is to say Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of God that giveth in hopes of a glorious resurrection and my body to the Earth to be buried in a Christian like and pleasant manner at the discretion of my executors nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall have the same again by the mighty powers of God to bless me in this life and as _____, such worldly estate wherewith it had pleased God to bless me in this life I give and devise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form:
Item 1 It is my will and I do order that all my debts be paid and satisfied.
Item 2 I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Anna Mary a young cow and a _____ and her spinning wheel and a bed. I bequeath unto my eldest son, Henry all the remainder of my estate and my estate and movables, real and personal without exception.
Item 3 Henry must maintain my well beloved wife as long as she may lives with sufficient dress and apparel.
Item 4 He must give unto his three brothers each of them five shillings for their part of my estate.
Item 5 My son John will stay with Henry until he be fourteen years old for _____ and apparel this to be performed at the discretion of my executors.
I do make and ordain my son Henry and Christian Good yet any and only and sole executors of my last will and testament and this is my last will and testament as witnessed my hand and seal day and year above named.
Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of Christian Bamberger and David Hifley.
Lancaster County on the 23rd day of March 1763, the subscribing witnesses appeared in the court and attested that Francis Sipe was of sound and disposing mind and memory at the execution of the will.
