Thomas is the son of Adam Hoyle (1779-1864) and Sarah Rhyne (1787-1850). Thomas never married and he enlisted in the Confederate States Army on 3 August 1863 in Decatur, Georgia. He was mustered as a private in Company A, 10th (State Guards) Georgia Cavalry.
Confederate Veteran resided at Confederate Home in Jacksonville, Florida. Died of dysentery & old age. Buried June 30, 1897.
