Abigail was the second to last daughter of Johannes "John" Van Blarcom and Rebekah Debow. She was born September 15, 1786 and baptized in the Paramus, Bergen, New Jersey, Reformed Dutch Church on October 8th of that year.

On November 16, 1805 she married John A. Smith in the Waldwick, United Methodist church. (Franklin/Waldwick/Wyckoff, New Jersey )

They had 4 children together that survived to adulthood. The large gap between the second and third child's birth, has me thinking that there may have been others that didn't make it to adulthood.... (Always researching....)

Her husband died in 1848 and his Will was clear that everything was to be sold off after his bequests. She lived with her youngest daughter Ann and her husband Willet's family in NYC, until they moved west. I am still searching to see where she lived at the 1860 census reporting time.

Abby died in 1866 and she is buried next to her husband in Union Cemetery (At that time known as "The Van Blarcom Family cemetery".) in Franklin/ Wyckoff, New Jersey.
(Her daughter Susan is next to her and then her grandson Albert is reposing.)
