Chaplin Andrew Gilluson was about to conduct buried on a number of soldier's when he heard a groaning in the bush. He enlisted the help a gent called Gillison and Pittendrigh to assist him with the casualty. On dragging the casualty in a sniper opened up on them severely wounding both Gillison and Pittendrigh, both of whom died shortly afterwards.
