Funeral services were conducted at 1:30 from Stoneman's and at 2:00 p.m. from the Friend's church for Mrs. William Gartman, 55, who died last Friday after an illness of about a year from cancer. The Rev. Otto Philipp officiated in the absence of the pastor Rev. Hutchins, and Richard Berg, Louis Struck, George Vertz, John LaCrosse, Otto Brown and Albert Gebauer were pallbearers. Burial was at Bayside.
Mrs. Gartman was born August 10, 1886, to Mr. and Mrs. Ezakiah Baker. Her first marriage was to Charles Smith in 1909. She and Mr. Gartman were married August 12, 1937, in Mott, N. D., and came to this county to make their home.
Surviving Mrs. Gartman are her husband, four children, Lucille Smith of Elko, Nevada; Duane Smith at the Veteran Hospital in Fargo, N. D.; Kenneth Smith of Memphis, Tenn., and Donald at home.
