US Naval Academy class of 1929, a classmate of my father. I met him as a boy of about seven but of course did not really get to know him. He was a Naval Aviator, as were most of my father's classmates whom I met during the 1930s and WWII. He was serving as Air Officer of USS Ticonderoga (CV-14) when he was killed in action by kamikaze attacks during operations against the Southern Japanese islands. Awarded the Navy Cross (posthumous award).∼died in WW II Pacific fleet, Battle of Leytey in Phillipines, when ship he was commanding was sunk. There is a memorial for him along with his shipmates in the Phillippines.
His parents were Frank C. Miller and Maunta Gay Addington of Indiana.
