Charles A. Reynolds Jr., 69, of the Lutheran Home at Luther Square,
formerly of 1018 Raspberry St., Erie, died Tuesday, Sept. 24, 1996, at
Saint Vincent Health Center.
He was born July 10, 1927, in Erie, son of the late Charles A. and
Sarah Jane Cole Reynolds.
He attended school in the Erie area and served in the U.S. Navy at
the end of World War II. He worked at Zurn Industries as a machinist
until he retired. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for
more than 36 years and a former member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth M. Winschel Reynolds; two sons,
Charles A. Reynolds III and his wife Christine, and Kevin Reynolds and
his wife Rhonda, all of Erie; a daughter, Susan Hoag and her husband
Albert of Erie; five sisters, Betty Smulik of Erie, Kathleen Connor of
Titusville, Elaine Billings of North Kingsville, Ohio, Martha Pike of
Redlands, Calif., and Carol Hansen of Phoeniz, Ariz.; two brothers, the
Rev. Gary Reynolds of Titusville and Milton Reynolds of Lynnwood,
Wash.; and five grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th St.,
Erie, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.
and attend services there Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mick McGinnis
of Trinity Methodist Church officiating.
Burial will be at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
