JOHN J. HUTTON DIED TUESDAY
WAS RETIRED FARMER AND A DIRECTOR OF UNION BANK AND TRUST COMPANY
John J. Hutton, eighty-five years old, a life-long resident of Jennings County, died at his home in Butlerville, at about four o'clock Tuesday afternoon January 14th. Although he had been in failing health, his death came unexpectedly and was a great shock to his relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held at the Baptist Church at Butlerville, at 1:00 P.M. today (Thursday) and burial will take place in Butlerville Cemetery.
John J. Hutton was born near Butlerville, the son of Edward and Mary Ann Hutton. He engaged in farming and became a prominent farmer of Campbell Township. A few years ago he retired from farm life and took up residence in Butlerville where he lived until his death. He was a director of the Butlerville State Bank and when that bank was merged with the Union Bank & Trust Company, of that city, he became a director the latter institution and held that position at the time of his death.
His wife died a number of years ago. He is survived by a son and a daughter: Oscar Hutton of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Bethe McClure, of Milan. Nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive. He was well known throughout the county and was held in high esteem by all who knew him.
