Golden wedding; last Saturday Sept.
22nd, 1883, was the fiftieth anniversary
of the wedding day of Mr. Edward
Hutton and lady. His children and
neighbors having previously determined
to make the day a pleasant
one for the old folks, surprised them
by assembling at their house about
o'clock in the morning, each family
bringing dinner and some nice present
for them. There were about thirty
persons present, consisting of children,
grand children and old neighbors.
Mr. Hutton is an old pioneer of this
county, having been a resident of this
county for forty-five years. But few
persons have enjoyed so long a wedded
life or lived so continuously in one lecality.
The day was passed very
pleasantly by those present and they
separated in the evening, all concurring
in the wish of long life and continued
happiness to Mr. and Mrs.
Hutton.
