Private Edward Burlingame was the 6th child of 8 children born to parents Isaac and Hilma Burlingame. Ed was the only Burlingame son that did not marry. He had did have two children with Margaret Mildred Schoeming: James Kenneth (Schoeming) Hall Sr.(1936-2017) and Estelle Ann Bertha (Schoemig)Tanzer (1938-1977) . He also had one son Edward Charles Burlingame(1940-2017) with Frances McCoy
1938–1977
The family oral history, from niece Evelyn Burlingame at 92years old, stated that the family was just never sure what happened to " Uncle Ed" when he went off to war. The family knew that Ed went off to war and just never came back. They had no idea where he died or was buried. We now know that Uncle Ed lost his life in France and was buried with his fellow comrades. Thanks to Find A Grave our family is able to reunite,Uncle, "Private Edward Burlingame" to his brothers and sisters and his parents.

Gravesite Details

Most of the fallen soldiers here were killed while driving the German forces from the fortress city of Metz toward the Siegfried Line and the Rhine River.
