The family oral history, from niece Evelyn Burlingame at 92years old, stated that the family was just never sure what happened to " Uncle Ed" when he went off to war. The family knew that Ed went off to war and just never came back. They had no idea where he died or was buried. We now know that Uncle Ed lost his life in France and was buried with his fellow comrades.
