He was an air crew member and his plane was delivering paratroopers to the combat zone. He has a memorial marker at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Nebraska. He is also listed in the Tablets of the Missing at the Normandy American Cemetery in France. His awards include the Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters and the Purple Heart.
